This is a disease resistant variety that has good foliage retention during the summer. It blooms later than most crabs and offers stunning long lasting dark pink to red flowers. Leaves are glossy maroon in spring becoming dark green with purple veins for the summer. The fruit holds on and does not drop. 1996 Iowa tree of the year.
