Swamp White Oak

Quercus bicolor

$95.00$148.00

Swamp white oak is native to eastern Iowa;  As the name implies, it is found growing naturally in low-lying moist sites, along bottomland, and in swampy areas.

Its leaves are rounded with shallow lobes, dark green on top and gray to felty white underneath.  The tree will be around 20 years old before producing acorns around an inch-long.

Swamp white oak makes an excellent, long-living shade tree when planted in the right soil.  It prefers acidic moist wet soils and will do well in an urban environment.

Plant this one for future generations to enjoy!
